Annoying...songs of years ago in current ads...
There's something that annoys me more than much, and it's the fact that the latest TV ads have singles of bands or singers which were already released weeks, even several months ago.
This is is the case of, for instance, GOOD CHARLOTTE's "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl", which has been featured in the last Vodafone's TV ad. Actually, the single was released half a year ago, in January!!! But instead of airplaying it on the radio because it is good, they have to use it now on an ad...well...at least, by means of that, they can spread their music...Here you got the clip for this song...
Another example of this is NATASHA BEDINGFIELD's "Unwritten", used for the last Pantene Pro-V's campaign, but which was released almost THREE YEARS AGO!!!, within her first album, also called like that. And, now they come with this song, it's like...damn! Clip:
Maybe. a less known case of this fact is THE CAESARS' single called "Jerk It Out". I'm sure most of you won't remember it, but it doesn't matter. It was released in 2002!!! and featured last year for ads like iPod Shuffle; and here (and other European countries), NIVEA. Here are the clip and the iPod's ad (the other one, I didn't find it):
